On September 19th all new international students of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law had a chance to go to Sheshan and get an unforgettable cultural experience there. In spite of changeable windy weather or a sudden rain, weather conditions could not impede the students and teachers to greatly enjoy themselves around Sheshan National Forest Park.
The mountainous forest park that is divided into two parts: The West Hill and The East Hill, is located in Songjiang district, Shanghai. The western area of the park includes the Astronomical Observatory, the Bamboo Park and the Mariana Basilica (Catholic Church), while the eastern area encompasses various sand sculptures, a Bird Conservatory and beautiful Butterfly Garden. Going there by bus the students could have a look around the streets and various buildings on the way.
At first, everyone gathered around the Preacher Tower with a sign of Yin and Yang in front of it. The tour through astonishing paths and stairs led the students to an awe-inspiring Catholic Church. Built with an incredible western style design, the Sheshan Basilica attracted lots of visitors and created a peaceful environment inside it.
At the end of the tour before returning to SHUPL teachers and all the students gathered together in order to take a memorable photo of the day.
