"Silk Road Lecture Series": Approaching Thailand

On October 24, the second Silk Road Lecture of this semester was held on a sunny day, with international student Wang Fei talking about her beautiful hometown, Thailand.


Thailand is the main country along the One Belt, One Road, sending many resources such as rubber and minerals to China, China also helps Thailand to build railways to promote mutual economic development, Thai students also build bridges of friendship between China and Thailand.


    

Wang Fei, dressed in Thai costume, gave a vivid introduction of her homeland. From Thailand's long history, she talked about the country's geographical location and natural environment, and also introduced many popular tourist attractions to the students. Chiang Mai in the north, Bangkok and Pattaya in central Thailand, for example, were fascinating.


Wang Fei's speech was very entertaining and she showed the students her school life: high school sporting events, graduation ceremony, etc. During her speech, there were fun games and each participant received a small gift. The Princess also gave a generous demonstration of Thai folk dances, which everyone was amazed by and applauded.


Amidst the endless applause, the Silk Road Lecture came to an end. Wang Fei said it was the first public lecture in her life, and she kindly gave each of the students a small handmade gift. All the students felt that they had benefited a lot from the lecture, not only learning about the customs and people of Thailand, but more importantly, feeling the friendship between the Chinese and Thai people.
