A poem inherits a thousand years of culture, while a text illuminates the path of life. On the afternoon of November 19, Timeless Poetry, Songs of Friendship was held in Shanghai. The final of the 2017 Chinese Poetry Recitation Conference for International Students was held at the Yangpu District Children's Palace. Chen Yuying, an international student from Vietnam, won the third prize for her poem "Poem to Mother" which she read aloud in the competition.
Timeless Poetry, Songs of Friendship - Shanghai 2017 Chinese Poetry Recitation Conference for International Students was held by the Party Committee of Education and Health Work of Shanghai, the Guided by the Municipal Education Commission and the Municipal Language Commission, and supervised by the Municipal Language Testing Center, Shanghai Education Newspaper General Agency, Yangpu District Spiritual Civilization Office, Fudan University International Co-hosted by the College of Cultural Exchange. Since it was held in July this year, it has attracted nearly 200 international students from 19 colleges and universities in the city to apply for the competition. On the basis of extensive publicity and promotion and the organization of the preliminary rounds of selection by universities, a total of 97 programs entered the city-level network rematch, according to statistics Nearly 100,000 university students, teachers and international friends, followed and participated in the voting for the city-level online rematch. In the end, 18 programs from 16 universities entered the final round.
The event was divided into individual competition and collective competition. The competition was intense, and the performances interspersed in the competition also added a lot of points to the competition. In the competition, the international students used fluent Mandarin, new reading forms and expressive and infectious performance design to win the prize. Full House Applause. Ancient poetry, prose and modern poetry, spanning millennia, recited through international students, either with gusto or mournfulness, as if before an audience of Unfolded the curtain of history, with their own style to convey the vision and hope for the future. The boundaries of countries became weaker and weaker in the beautiful poetry reading, and we enjoyed the auditory feast together, experiencing the poetry of the Poetry and Painting.
By participating in this activity, international students from our university were able to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese classical poetry and deepen their understanding of the outstanding Chinese culture and tradition. Enthusiasm, improve language application and aesthetic quality, and better help to promote the international dissemination of outstanding Chinese traditional culture.
