On the afternoon of October 11, School of International Communication and Exchange(SICE) held the first international Chinese language teaching exchange meeting for international students after the implementation of the new international student training program. Professor Ouyang Mehe, Dean of the SICE, all international Chinese language teachers and teaching administrators of the School of International Exchange participated in the exchange meeting.

First of all, Associate Professor Zhao Wei of the School of Literature and Media explained the teaching focus and assessment criteria of each course in detail for all the lecturers, and shared with them the problems that international students easily encounter in learning Chinese.

In order to ensure better teaching quality for international students, a professional international Chinese teaching team can be established gradually to provide quality teachers for international students.

Finally, Professor Ouyang Meihe,  said in his concluding speech that rich curriculum resources, careful preparation of teaching programs and professional teaching ability are important prerequisites for teaching. At the same time, several suggestions were made: first, the implementation of the new international student training program will gradually put the international student education on the right track, but the teaching process should be continuously improved to ensure the quality of teaching and improve the quality of enrollment; second, the coordination between different courses should be improved to ensure the improvement of the comprehensive language ability of international students; third, apart from classroom teaching, international students should also strengthen their own language learning and make full use of the second classroom to develop Chinese thinking ability; fourth, the interaction between international students and Chinese students should be strengthened to improve the two-way language learning ability of Chinese and foreign students.

In the future, the college will hold regular international Chinese teaching meetings to promote interaction and exchange of experience among the teachers and to further improve the overall level of international Chinese teaching. (Writer: Zhou Yi)
