In order to enhance the safety awareness of international students and further promote the construction of academic style, the School of International Communication and Exchange International Students Safety Education and Academic Style Promotion Conference was held in Xinjiao Room 112 on the evening of December 1. Professor Ouyang Mehe, General Secretary of the Party Branch of the SICE, President of the School, and all the students and faculty attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wei Chuancheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party General Branch of the SICE.
At the meeting, Wei Chuancheng listed some of the major safety incidents that happened at home and abroad recently, and provided safety education to international students in terms of personal safety, property safety, traffic safety and dormitory safety, emphasizing the need to enhance self-protection awareness, improve prevention ability, prevent being deceived, try to travel together when going out, pay attention to personal and property safety, and stay away from places with hidden safety risks.
Liu Zimeng once again explained the relevant regulations of China's immigration administration for international students, highlighted the visa administration system, explained in detail the procedures of processing the common types of visas, residence permits and other documents related to international students, and reminded international students to pay attention to the statute of limitations of their visas, apply for renewal within 30 days before the expiration of their visas, and complete the renewal procedures before the winter break.
Zhou Yi introduced the implementation of the reform of the international student cultivation program in 2016, in order to enable international students to better master professional knowledge, the current cultivation program in Chinese language courses will be throughout the study. The School of International Exchange will organize practical teaching activities for international students to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. As the final exams were approaching, Mr. Zhou emphasized the academic style of international students and encouraged them to overcome the regional and climatic differences, ensure class attendance, attend classes on time and develop good study habits. At the same time, the issue of exam discipline was emphasized again, hoping that students will be able to take the exam in good faith, play their due level and get good results.
Finally, Ouyang Mehe summarized the theme of the conference and proposed four consciousnesses: safety consciousness, time consciousness, respect consciousness and academic consciousness. In order to encourage international students to complete their studies better, the SICE has established an incentive mechanism and established various scholarships to encourage international students who have outstanding performance in various aspects, such as academic star, literary star, sports star, Chinese language learning star and other single scholarships.
