On June 1, just in time for the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, the international student team of SHUPL participated in the 12th Shanghai International Students Dragon Boat Race. Nineteen international students from different countries showed the spirit of our university.

At 7:30 a.m., the players and cheerleaders assembled at the Yonghu Building on time and arrived at East China University of Technology at 9:30 a.m. to begin pre-game training. At 2:30 p.m., the game began amid a roar of cheers. In the competition, our international students fully demonstrated the sports spirit of fighting for the limits of life and forging the brilliance of youth. With the majority of the team members having never been in a dragon boat before, having only trained twice and having no experience, the team won the first place in the group and the 14th place in the overall, the team members showed the spirit and style of our school.

The event enhanced cohesion among students and deepened communication and cooperation between teachers and students. At the same time, it also spreads the traditional Chinese culture, so that the international students can feel the charm of Chinese culture. Su Qi, a student from Indonesia, said she was very happy to take part in such an event because it was her first time to see a dragon boat race and her first time to hear about the Dragon Boat Festival in China, and she hopes to participate in more similar cultural activities in the future.
