Rules for the Use of Shared Kitchens in Dormitory for International Students

In order to ensure the safety of international students' electricity use and avoid fire accidents caused by illegal electricity use, this rule is formulated in conjunction with the Regulations on Fire Safety Management of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and the Measures for the Management of Accommodation in International Student Apartments of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.


Article 1: Kitchen opening hours


Kitchen open: 7:00-22:00 daily, no other hours.


Article 2: Use of kitchen utensils


(a) The use of open flame cookware in the apartment is strictly prohibited, and the private connection of electrical wires is strictly prohibited.


(ii) All kitchen utensils are to be kept in good condition.


(c) International students are required to use kitchen utensils in designated public kitchens, which must be turned off, unplugged, cleaned and placed in designated locations or taken back to their rooms for safekeeping after use. 


Article 3. Refrigerator use


(a) Use the refrigerator rationally in accordance with its use and the instructions on it, and do not divert it to other uses.


(b) The refrigerator plug board is a special plug board, which shall not be replaced at will, nor shall it be shared with other electrical appliances, so as to avoid an accident caused by an excessive charge.


(c) Consciously keep food stored in the refrigerator, etc., and clean or discard expired or long-unused food in a timely manner.


(4) It is strictly forbidden to take food from others.


Article 4: Kitchen hygiene


Kitchen hygiene is based on the principle of who uses and who cleans. Please use the kitchen in a civilized manner and consciously keep the kitchenware, cooktop, sink, floor and refrigerator clean and tidy, and discard food waste and garbage.


Article 5. Handling of violations


Community administrators and watchmen should step up critical education for offending international students. Those who fail to do so shall be punished according to the circumstances.


These regulations are effective immediately and will be interpreted by the School of International Communication and Exchange (International Student Office).
