The library of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law was founded in 1987. In 2010, the new library building was completed and the entire relocation was completed. The new building is located in the center of Hedong campus.
The new library introduces a modern library function design concept to achieve a new service model of intelligent service functions, one-stop access, and one-stop service. The new building has a total construction area of 15,500 square meters, and the whole building has three floors. It has 2,200 seats for reading and 8 open reading areas. In terms of service software technology, our library is the first comprehensive introduction of 3M RFID intelligent library system in domestic universities, which has achieved breakthroughs in service functions such as self-service borrowing, intelligent collection, and 24-hour book return.
Our library currently has more than 900,000 Chinese and foreign books, more than 900,000 electronic books, more than 1,500 Chinese and foreign periodicals, 135 newspapers, and 25 document information resource libraries. Library services are mainly divided into loan services, reading services, document retrieval services, reference consulting services and online services.
There are 4 departments in the library, such as editorial department, reference consulting department, circulation department and reading department, and there are more than 30 formal staff members.
The library takes the modern university graphic information resource center as its development goal, adhering to the purpose of serving teachers and students in teaching and research, reflecting the characteristics of school development, adhering to the modern library management concept of readers first, service first, with digital network Supported by chemical technology, with the service model of “Integration of borrowing, reading, storing, searching and consulting” as the core, with the breakthrough of the service field and service method as the breakthrough, actively explore the innovative path of the service model, and strive to develop The school's teaching and research literature information needs to provide a strong guarantee of document information resources.
